This resource offers a unique perspective on the positive and negative ways humans affect the environment. Drawing on the connection between the environment and disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology, GreenFILE serves as an informative resource for anyone concerned about the issues facing our planet. The database contains nearly 300,000 records, full text for selected titles and searchable cited references for more than 200 titles as well.

  • Human Face of Climate Change -- from the Global Humanitarian Forum in Geneva. Lots of Primary sources.

  • Politics, Science and Global Warming -- .pdf

  • Real Climate - "a commentary site on climate science by working climate scientists for the interested public and journalists. We aim to provide a quick response to developing stories and provide the context sometimes missing in mainstream commentary. The discussion here is restricted to scientific topics and will not get involved in any political or economic implications of the science."

  • Science on Global Warming -- looks at how the data may be manipulated by political agendas. Very interesting and makes a good sidebar to your report.

  • United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change -- status reports on greenhouse gas emissions and more.

  • United States Global Change Data Gateway -- provides entry to different agencies involved and their data sets.

  • U.S. Climate Action Partnership -- "a group of businesses and leading environmental organizations that have come together to call on the federal government to quickly enact strong national legislation to require significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions. USCAP has issued a landmark set of principles and recommendations to underscore the urgent need for a policy framework on climate change." An interesting site that indicates the business side from actual corporations.

  • U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Center-- 442 mayors representing over 61 million Americans have signed onto this initiative to reduce their own cities' contributions to global warming. Find out here if your city is one of them, and read best practice documents. Their agreement is here.

  • The Washington Post Special Report: Global Warming --Documents, transcripts, graphics and full-text articles.

  • What is Global Warming? -- from "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore.

  • World Meteorological Organization -- weather, climate and water information from the UN. An excellent site!

  • WorldWatch -- "an independent research organization recognized by opinion leaders around the world for its accessible, fact-based analysis of critical global issues. The Institute's three main program areas include Climate & Energy, Food & Agriculture, and the Green Economy."
