Drug Information Sites

  • Dr. Koop's Virtual Pharmacy--this includes a drug reference manual and a database of drug interactions.
  • Drugs@FDA -- searchable and browsable, it gives the dosages, strengths and marketing status.
  • DrugWatch -- gives information on drugs, side effects, interactions and more.
  • HerbMed -- provides information on toxic and adverse effects, mechanisms of action, commercial and folk methods of preparation, and links to related sites.
  • Mayo Clinic: Drugs and Supplements -- this is an excellent site free of bias and based on solid research.
  • National Pharmaceutical Council -- includes full-text articles on drug-related topics and links to drug-makers websites.
  • RX List--the Internet Drug Index--a guide to the formulation, uses, side-effects, and drug interactions of pharmaceuticals. Searchable by name and imprint codes.
  • US Pharmacopeia--check out its Drug Information section, which contains a searchable and browsable database.
  • Virtual Pharmacy-- Contains a reference desk, drug databases, interactive anatomy browsers, genetic maps, and more.
