Children's Literature and Good Sites for Kids
For Parents and Teachers

 

  • Disabled Teen Resources-- University of Washington's "Do-It" program to help disabled teens develop their math and science talents; links for adaptive technology and other aids for the disabled.
  • For and About Kids and Teens-- From the National Children's Coalition. Includes homework resources, cool links, forum for kids to speak out on issues that matter to them. Look at the menu on the left.
  • Helping your Child to Become a Reader
  • Internet Use Agreements with your Child -- prepare, pre-warn and talk!
  • Kid Info--something for everyone here--advice for parents, games and stories for pre-schoolers, topical materials for school, and lots more.
  • Kids Games -- the outdoor, run around, neighborhood kind, like 'Capture the Flag' and 'Red Light Green Light'. When they need that physical activity break!
  • Ology -- The American Museum of Natural History's site for kids. Each of the "ologies" - marine biology, archaeology, astronomy, etc. - includes
    polls, Stuff To Do, "Meet the Ologists," "What Do You Know?" and a
    section on "What's the Big Idea?"
  • Parents and Children Together Online-- the Family Literacy Center's site to encourage parents and children to read together.
  • Parent's Page -- from the Winnipeg Public Library, a nice site with Internet safety tips, literature sites and lots more.
