  • Adherents.com -- comprehensive source for statistics on religious adherents. Search by religion or location.
  • All.Info: Religion -- an incomplete, but interesting collection of sites by subject.
  • American Academy of Religion -- AAR is the world's largest association of academics who research or teach topics related to religion.
  • American Religion Data Archives--a collection of both membership data for the different congregations, and an extraordinary amount of opinion survey data.
  • American Religious Experience--encourages the development and publication of American religion manuscripts and images on the World Wide Web. 
  • American Association of Pastoral Counselors

  • BeCaL - Belief, Culture and Learning Information Gateway-- Here you will find peer-reviewed educational and research resources concerning belief, culture and values.
  • Center for the Study of Information and Religion (CSIR) --
    "focused on the various institutions and agents of religion and their affect on social knowledge through the use, dissemination, and diffusion of information. The CSIR utilizes an interdisciplinary approach with other fields in the Social Sciences and collaborative partnerships with various representatives of religious faiths and denominations. CSIR is currently working on an annotated bibliography of online data sources for research in the area of religion. It will be available from this web site early in 2010."
  • Early Church Online Encyclopedic Documents Page--a meta-index covering several existing document sites, Catholic and Islamic.

  • Institute on Religion and Public Policy -- news archives full-text.
  • Interfaith Calendar -- For the years 2005 through 2010, this calendar lists important days for a wide variety of faiths, and provides definitions as well. Also has links to religion news sources.
  • New Testament Gateway -- includes Web information about the New Testament and its background.  Subject headings include: Greek New Testament, Non-Canonical Christian Texts, Bible Translations, Textual Criticism, Women and Gender.
  • Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance--a collection of essays on divisive religious issues, sponsored by an objective nonpartisan group interested in bringing people together.
  • Patheos --"Patheos visitors will find a variety of unique lenses, maps, family trees and comparison charts that can be used to compare, contrast and learn about different religions and belief systems in ways never before available on the Internet. These interactive tools provide visitors with a greater understanding of religion and spirituality through visual, easy-to-use applications."
  • Patristics Texts and Resources -- full-text online resources for Patristic scholarship (study of the Church fathers and their writings).
  • Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life -- This nonpartisan organization provides information (news, backgrounders, polls and surveys), but takes no position on "issues at the intersection of religion and public affairs," including bioethics, the death penalty, religion in public schools.
  • The Pluralism Project--Committee on the Study of Religion, Harvard University. Developed by  Harvard University to study and document the growing religious diversity of the United States, with a special view to its new immigrant religious communities. It includes images, research, calendars and many other links.
  • Reference Library from Religion Newswriters Association -- includes links to full-text online versions of various holy books, articles on religion, demographics, etc.
  • Religion and Ethics Newsweekly -- current events
  • Religion-Online.org--More than 3,000 searchable full text articles and chapters by recognized religious scholars. Topics include Old and New Testament, Theology, Ethics, History and Sociology of Religions, Comparative Religion, Religious Communication, Pastoral Care, Counseling, Homiletics, Worship, Missions and Religious Education..
  • Religion Religions Religious Studies--Information and links for study and interpretation of religions.
  • Religion Statistics -- allows you to compare geographic regions and lots more. An Excellent site.
  • Religious Freedom Restoration Act
  • Religious Studies Web Guide-- an enormous collection of links.
  • Sacred Text Archive -- an 'archive of electronic texts about religion, mythology, legends and folklore, and occult and esoteric topics. Texts are presented in English translation and, in some cases, in the original language.'
  • Virtual Religion Index --if I was only going to list one religion site, this would be it. It has everything, for all religions: religious texts, libraries, psychology and sociology of religion, ethics and moral values, biblical studies, comparative religion
