  • Campaign Reform- Understanding the Issue --  from Public Agenda, an organization that "unbiased and unparalleled research that bridges the gap between American leaders and what the public really thinks about issues ranging from education to foreign policy to immigration to religion and civility in American life." An excellent source.

  • FactCheck -- "a nonpartisan, nonprofit "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding. The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania."

  • League of Women Voters -- unbiased candidate information.

  • Politifact -- "a project of the St. Petersburg Times and Congressional Quarterly. In the months ahead, the news staffs of both organizations will examine major claims by presidential candidates and rule on their veracity. Our Truth-O-Meter will help voters sort fact from fiction in the campaign. This is a working database and over time it will grow more valuable."

  • Project Vote Smart--a comprehensive bi-partisan, objective political information site. Find out where your polling place is, how to register to vote, who the candidates are, how they voted, what their stand on issues actually are, as well as up-to-date biographical and contact information. Sort of like a consumer's guide to politicians in your area. Just the facts.
