Dear
The following information is provided to you in our efforts to respond carefully to inquiries concerning items in the O'Keefe Library collection.
A policy has been established which allows for a written explanation of concern over content or inclusion of an item of material in our collection. The first step for you to take is to fill out the enclosed form completely and return it to the Library Director.
The report will be submitted to the person or committee that selected the item for evaluation of the original reasons for purchase.
Your objection will be considered in terms of the library's materials selection statements, the principles of the Library Bill of Rights, and the opinions of the various reviewing sources used in the materials selection process.
A letter will be sent to you providing answers to your specific questions and reporting the decision of the committee concerning the disposition of the item in question.
We trust that questions will have been answered satisfactorily. If, however, that is not the case, you may contact the Library Director and request further discussion of the item in question.
The library staff is always interested in hearing from constituents and welcomes the opportunity to discuss our selection policies, procedures and services offered to users.
I thank you for your interest in the materials collection of the O'Keefe Library of St. Ambrose University.
Sincerely,
John Pollitz,
Director
